Dr. Atul Kulkarni
A Pathologist and an eminent Transfusion Medicine Expert, Dr. Atul Kulkarni has been playing a pivotal role in our rising graph. Attributes of his work tenure that specially stand out are a) contribution in policy making for providing free blood to the society, and b) Scaling up Jankalyan Raktpedhi(JKRP) to global standards by implementing updated technology with automation and modernization. Associated with JKRP since 2003, he has held various responsibilities over the years and is the Director-In-Charge since 2007.
Dr. Atul Kulkarni is a Principal Assessor of blood centres and hospitals for the NABH (National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Healthcare Providers). A technical expert and member of State Blood Transfusion Council, Government of Maharashtra, he has been a revered speaker, panelist and chair-person in various national and international conferences. He is also a member of the national expert working group for VBD (National Blood Transfusion Council, Government of India)
He has undertaken trainings from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Immunohematology (NIIH). He is associated with Indian Medical Association (IMA) as Convener of Blood Transfusion Updates for Clinicians.
A committed blood donor and platelet donor himself, he plays active role in Voluntary Blood Donation Movement.
